The UNODC #ScaleUp Initiative is a vital response to the growing global challenge of stimulant use disorders, which affect millions of individuals worldwide. In 2021, approximately 78 million people used substances like amphetamines, cocaine, or ecstasy non-medically, with stimulant use ranking as the second most common drug use worldwide. However, effective treatment options remain limited, with significant gaps in both access and equity, particularly for women. In response, UNODC launched the #ScaleUp initiative during the 2024 Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) session to scale up combined...

The aim of the paper is to describe and reflect the development process of international quality standards and a competency model for clinically oriented university programs in addictions.
Píšová, M., & Lukavská, K. (2024). Technoference in parents of primary school-aged children and its associations with parental problematic screen use and sociodemographic characteristics. Adiktologie, 24(2), 89–98. https://doi.org/10.35198/01-2024-002-0007
INTRODUCTION: Parental technoference (PTF) refers to the behaviour of a parent who looks at the screen of their smartphone (or other electronic device) instead of their child’s face during parent-child interaction. The parent’s inattention to the child disrupts adult–child reciprocal trust and warmth, negatively affecting the parent-child relationship. The parent may also unconsciously convey to the child that they are of low importance. Additionally, given that children lack awareness about what is right and wrong in relation to screen use, frequent PTF may lead to the establishment of bad...

This study delves into the initial implementation and impacts of a safer supply program, capturing insights from an...
