You will be responsible for setting up and conducting the qualitative component of an innovative project to understand how benzodiazepines and opioids interact to increase the likelihood of fatal overdose. Findings from the qualitative work will inform experimental studies including influencing the design of animal experiments. The study findings will inform the design of new harm reduction interventions that could reduce the number of overdoses in the population. This study responds to the public health crisis of rising opioid related deaths in the UK, especially in Scotland.
