ISSUP Kenya has kicked off the third cohort of the Introduction to Evidence-Based Prevention (INEP) Plus training program with twelve (12) participants. The sessions are being facilitated by Sammy Ombissa and Ann Mumbi, both experienced master trainers.
What is INEP Plus?
INEP Plus was developed by ISSUP to add value to the INEP content by providing training of facilitators from its National Chapters who could then offer INEP Plus courses in country for beginners in prevention. This would help to address their understanding of evidence-based prevention and play their role as stakeholders in prevention.
INEP Plus training and facilitator courses cover a range of fundamental issues for evidence-based prevention. The virtual course explores evidence-based prevention strategies and policies, prevention in families, schools, workplaces, and communities, as well as the role of media and the importance of monitoring and evaluation.
The current cohort includes participants from diverse areas across Kenya, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kiambu, Meru, and Mandera. This wide representation reflects the growing momentum in building a strong network of prevention science professionals across the country.
