At NDDCB Training Center -Colombo

29th November 2024

One-day training workshop

Primary school teachers are the guides in the development of children's basic knowledge, skills and attitudes. Their educational foundation will last throughout the child's life and will lead to the creation of a physically and mentally healthy child.

The basis of the program

Colombo Plan DAP introduced the Children's Curriculum to Sri Lanka, focusing on Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives. The most useful group in every part of this curriculum were the teachers associated with the program. With them, NDDCB PET officers shared many parts of this curriculum

Who is directly beneficiaries?

Forty teachers participated in this one-day workshop. These teachers worked with children aged 3 to 12. An important part of the training was the structured study of the curriculum, including art, drawing, and exercises to understand children's emotions.

Sustainability:

This program was invited to continue as a series of programs. On the other hand, children who come from environments at risk of drug use live in the neighborhoods of these teachers. NDDCB PET hopes to continue to allocate time for prevention programs such as Universal and Selective.
