About Hannah:

Hannah is a registered social worker, practice educator and NAAS accredited, with 14 years of frontline practice experience within substance use services. The focus of Hannah’s practice has been supporting children and families affected by a loved ones substance use within a North West local authority. Hannah is a final year PhD student at Manchester Metropolitan University, her research is influenced by her current practice within a specialist service for children impacted by PSM.

About Virginia:

Virginia Wright has worked in local, regional and national government as a lead researcher and health economist for over 15 years, specialising in substance use disorder. 

She is currently seconded as the policy lead for families experiencing problem parental alcohol and drug use at Public Health England, and is undertaking a part-time PhD at the University of Sheffield researching the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of adult treatment and children’s social care support for parents with substance use disorder.
