Prevention Program Series - Mahaweli System "E" and "Digana" - Sri Lanka

National Dangerous Drugs Control Board has collaborated with Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka to enhance the quality of lives their farmers and reduce the use of substance in their areas since 2016.

In 2024 November,  Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka has organized an Evidence based Substance Abuse Prevention Program series in Mahaweli System “E” and “Digana” targeting schools and community organizations.

All sessions developed and delivered through the evidence base approaches and UNODC Prevention Standers, interventions mentioned in Universal Core Course, which was develop by Colombo Plan support with U. S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

Mr. Supun Udana Wewala Gedara (ICAP - Prevention, Recovery), Ms. Priyadarshani Rathnayake (ICAP - Prevention, Treatment, Recovery) , Ms. I. N. Hettiarachchi (ICAP - Prevention) and Ms. J. A. Iresha Sewwandi Jayakodi joined to conducted the sessions.
